KerriIt’s with a great personal pleasure that I introduce our feature web designer Kerri Dawe. Kerri is a talented & creative young Halligonian who has been making a name for herself in the local Web market.

Design Philosophy:

Kerri’s design style / philosophy can be summed up as minimalist with a clean & crisp functionality following a logical page flow.

After graduating from CompuCollege in Halifax, Kerri worked a couple of terms for Public Works Canada, and eventually found her way to Azorus Inc. a local web service company specializing in Relationship Management for Higher Education who’s core client base is located in the United States.

Relationship Management for
Higher Education

There is a “digital divide” between students in high school and institutions of higher learning. Today’s students are sophisticated Internet users and have had access to the web throughout all of their high school years. Their expectations of university and college web sites are high. Similarly, if you are recruiting for your graduate programs or continuing education department, the expectations of these students are exactly the same.

Creative & Support Services:

Azorus Inc. in addition to providing the advanced Azorus Recruitment Management technology to their clients, Azorus can also provide creative and design services. The Azorus team of writers and designers has been working in the higher education area for years. They clearly understand student behaviour and know how to craft a message for  students, regardless of their age. Azorus can provide this service on a flexible basis to allow the client to take advantage of these resources on their terms.

Kerri has been the lead Web Designer/Developer at Azorus since July of 2005 & along with being a key influence on their new site design [due to be released this month] Kerri is also responsible for assisting their clients with web design & support as well as email campaigns.

Winston’s pub & eatery is not your typical one dimensional neighbourhood pub. We have a wonderful menu that encompasses not only local favourites, but also a wide variety of unique and delicious dishes from all over the world.

Chef Craig FlinnChives Canadian Bistro has become a name trusted for quality among Halifax’s dining community. Our desire to bring an extraordinary casual dining experience has set new standards for restaurants in our community. Whether guests are gathering with a group of co-workers, celebrating an anniversary, or grabbing a quick bite to eat before the theatre, Chives has delivered meals and service above all expectations.
The ultimate compliment that can be given to a web designer is to have one of their clients return and request new work or a new site to be built. Recently the owners of Chives acquired an additional outlet, they instantly called Kerri and commissioned a new site to promote their expansion into a lunch / coffee shop & the headquarters for their growing catering business & Ciboulette was born…..

Kerri demonstrated her multitalented approach with the Halifax Firefighter Combat Challenge project. She was responsible for designing the calendar itself, doing all the Photoshop & layout, developing the supporting Website, managing the online sales of the calendars and she accompanied the team to Las Vegas for the international competition where she was part of a team of Photographers who covered the event & sold prints to the competitors & fans.
Halifax’s finest is proud to present our first ever calendar - 2008 is going to be a hot year! The 13 men who grace the pages of this calendar took their shirts off to raise funds for the Nova Scotia Burn Treatment Society and the Halifax Combat Challenge Teams.
‘Smokin’ calendar: The guys credit the success of the calendar to Mr. Foote’s wife, Marie, and graphic artist Kerri Dawe, as well as photographer Paul Douglas. The two women, they say, volunteered their time to design the calendar, organize sponsors, create the website and promote sales. www.huskiesdogpound.com

  • Kerri’s a quiet observer, by nature notices incredible amounts of detail and has the ability to quickly assess sites & situations allowing Kerri’s creativity to shine.
  • I’ve been consistently impressed with Kerri’s dept of knowledge, breath of topics and and understanding of both the design and business process.
